Hauptanforderungen
- Carry your original, valid national driving licence whenever you drive; an IDP is only ever valid alongside it, never on its own.
- An IDP is recognised in Zimbabwe and is strongly recommended - Canadian government advice tells travellers to carry one - especially if your licence is not in English or uses a non-Latin script.
- Keep copies of your passport photo page and visa in the vehicle whenever you drive, as UK government advice recommends.
- Keep a copy of your vehicle clearance certificate with you when driving, per Canadian government advice.

Reisewarnungen
- Rental firms set their own documentation rules on top of Zimbabwean law, so check with your supplier before booking; an IDP makes an unfamiliar or non-English licence easier for a counter agent to read.
- Police roadblocks are common and can be set up without warning. On-the-spot fines are illegal in Zimbabwe, so ask for a written ticket and a receipt rather than paying a cash demand at the roadside.
- It is illegal to continue driving when the President's motorcade goes past - pull off the road.
